who do i raise aggression in convicts cichlids? i have one (male) but its the most tame fish in the tank, i dont want that because it lives with feeders (3-4) right now and it doesnt do anything to them. so how do i do this?

..........Why?

If you get it a mate it will probably pair up and be more aggressive....

nah cant get a mate its only in a 30 so its a single specimen.
why? you ask
cause its a convict. i plan it to be a monster fish. not a tetra fish
so how? please help
i think it will be more active when its aggressive. like biting the glass and all not just hiding in a cave.

you can get it a mate in a 30:) just might have to ditch the goldfish (which would probably be better in non tropical temps)

I've never seen a glass banging convict, be sure to get a video if it gets to that poing:D

Yea he could absolutely have a girl in a 30 gallon........and it would definetly make him more aggresive.......let him pair up with a female and you can kiss those feeders goodbye........

You can easily have 2 convict cichlids in a 30 gallon tank. I've had them in 20s with no problems. I have never seen a convict with "monster" behavior, but you may get lucky. Those feeders may die, but probably won't get eaten unless they are feeder guppies/danios/white clouds, or if they are very small goldfish. They may get killed if they are larger, but why waste them like that?

like everyone else said.. dont even worry about adding a female in there. haha i have mine breeding in a 20g. and.. wow they get it on

also.. the feeders might raise the ammonia levels too high if they dont get eaten so u wanna watch for that.
