I have been interested in raising an arrow.. wondering how fast they grow and how long a 72 gallon would house him for. And if you read my overstocked post would this be too much. if you have questions I could answer for a more accurate response please feel free to ask.

maybe 3-6 months

well if its over tsocked then mabye a monthsd aros grow about 2" amonth on avg good luck also they will need at least a 96x30x24 tank :)

i wish mine would grow two inches a month

Average growth is about 1 to 1.5 inches per month for a silver arowana. A guide for keeping arowana is the tank should have a length at least 3x that of the arowana and the width need be at least equal. Assuming your tank is 48" long and has an average width of 15" The largest aro you would want to keep would be about 15".

If you started with a 6" aro, within 6 months you will need a bigger tank. Figure that within 12 to 18 months you will need to provide at least a 180g 6'x2'x2' tank. Also 2 tp 3 years after that you will then need to move into even a larger tank.

Sorry I am not familiar with your overstock post, you should at least provide a link to this post.
