So I just got 3 fry from a buddy of mine. They are about 1 inch to 1.5 inches. I just want some advice on what to do.

I have them in a 30 gallon together with lots of hiding spaces, so far no aggression has been shown yet. They eat approximately 5 times a day with flakes. I do WC every 2-3 days, 30%. Heater set at 86 degree F.

So, I am thinking of getting a divider or two (or making them with mesh/plastic canvas), just wondering if that is a good idea to do it this early when there is no aggression. Ive heard some people say its better to keep together in groups at this stage. Then, ive also heard its better to separate to them for better potential in showing kok and color.

As for food, I can try crushed pellets, since some people claim that flakes are not that nutritional?

Any input from successful breeders would be awesome.

Seperate them with a clear divider that way they are safe from each other and possibly show off more trying to get to each other but not being able to. A larger tank would be better though

I read somewhere that when they see each other, the smaller flowerhorn will lose potential in both kok and color growth.

I kept mine seperated like that and fed them pellets like hikari and grand sumo. Bloodworms as Treats
Thats what worked out for me you can try whatever you like :)

Experienced opinions are always appreciated. I definitely will try your way as well. What kind of divider do you use? or do you make it yourself?

When I had a lot of juvies at a time lol more than I should have I used a cheap alternative it's called light diffuser from Home Depot aka egg crate
It's white with bunch of little squares

Ah yes. Those egg crates are sharp though. I just got some plastic canvas. Hopefully they will work when I get done
