Hi, I am new to the forum. I have a pair of amarillos and I have them together with the fry. They have been free swimming for a week now. Would it be okay to take the male
Out of the tank and put him back in my community tank? Would the female be able to raise them? Please help? Any suggestions.

If they have been free swimming for a week, I would remove both the male and the female, or the fry. It would be best to move the parents if you can so the fry don't have to acclimate. They are fragile as it is. Other than that, grind up some high quality flake or pellet to feed them. Congrats on the spawn, and welcome to MFK!

Okay would it be best to separate the parents that way I don't have multiple spawns back to back? This is my first time with fish breeding. I'm
Excited I just don't want to get overwhelmed.

That depends. Most fish wont spawn for a while after the stress of being moved, however some will spawn under almost any circumstances. If you don't want mass amounts of baby swimmies, I would just let nature take its course in the community tank and work on the batch you have now. Keep in mind, the largest killer of fish fry by far is starvation. They need a very regular supply of high quality food. Minimum 3 times a day feeding, and sometimes that wont even be enough. Obviously all of this extra food creates a lot of extra mess and pollutants, so more water changes are going to become a necessity.

Awesome! Thanks a lot.

Of course. Hopefully someone else will be able to chime in on anything I missed.
