what would the proper setting be for breeding minnows (shiners) for live bait? could i throw a bunch into a rubbermaid tub throw in some rocks and hope for the best or is it a detailed process? Minnows are pretty cheap but spending $3 a dozen every few days starts to break my wallet, has anyone done it or is it best to keep supporting local bait shops haha.

IMO, just keep buying the shiners, not worth your time to breed them to make more baitfish. Or at last buy a bulk of them and put them in the tub for later uses.
