Raising the fry with or without dithers?

My festae bred and they are in a 6' tank with 7 spotted dollars and a small Midas.
The wigglers are now swimming with the parents and I have been debating whether it would be better to keep the dithers in the tank or to removed them.

After some consideration I removed them this evening, but would like to have your thoughts/experience on what usually works best.

I had dithers with my Ellicon fries. The dithers helped bring the fries out of their hidey holes and allow them to feel more comfortable swimming all over, however the dithers competed with the fries for food, which is a downside.
