So i bought 4 1in. ram cichlids to eventually breed. So, i put them in a 20g high to grow out. I fed them a quality flake and occasionally frozen brine shrimp. To my surprise they laid eggs! I thought they would need to get 2.5in or bigger to breed. But sure enough theres a little group of around 50 eggs. This was 3 days ago so they should be hatching either today or tommorrow. I'll try to get some pictures.

you may want to get a bigger tank if there breeding allready

well considering they're 1 inch i was going to put each pair into their own 10. I have 2 males 2 females. Is raising the fry similiar to that of discus and angelfish? I've done both successfully.

thats tiny, imagine how many eggs if they were 3inch plus

good luck with the fry

Rams are very bad parents you should just pull out the eggs. I try the method of leaving them in there the parents keep eating them even after they spawn 10 times I eventually gave up and sold the pair.

Well they passed my expectations for being first time parents they kept the eggs for 3 days, but sadly ate them today. It wouldn't be the first time i've had to artificially raise the fry.
