rams horn snail proper care

iv got a rams horn and its shell is not in as good a shape as i think is healthy. i love this little snail and want to help it. iv heard they need calcium. the shell looks like its discolored to a whitish and is no longer smooth like it used to be. what could be the problem??? to sound like a cliche on here... HELP!!!

You need to give it calcium for a strong shell, from food or in the water. That'll help it grow a healthy shell.

What are your pH and KH? Use crushed corals to increase both and supplement its diet with calcium enriched veggies particularly collards. Kensfish has invert foods containing 16% calcium.
