So what’s up guys, been forever, I’m sure anyone who who miss me has been gone for years lol.
still got the old 125 gallon with a few ancient Silvers, 2 big sevs, one runt orange sev, and one wild sev, unfortunately it’s mate had a bulge at the base of its side fin and I knew it from the shop, tried to save it be I think it was something cancerous possibly.
couple big synodontis cats.
2 aquaclear 120s or 110s whatever the big ones are.
A huge sponge filter.
A power head on a jebo 4-5 chamber filter.
the aquaclears have the big sponge, then just bags of the white porous cubes and other shaped media.
I usually do 50 percent WC per week.
My PH is usually around 7.2 to 7.6
0 nitrite
0 ammonia
nitrates however have been poppin higher like 40-80 ppm, I went a bit too longon a bit of filter cleaning on that jebo thing, ugh.
Anyways, my salad plate sized red severums ate like a champ last night, this morning, dead, eyes sunk in, top of tank.
super healthy eater all kinds of healthy hikari and tetra crisps and spirulina flakes, blood worms, always keep the foods mixed up and quality.
there is pecking orders in the tank but they are severums, not Central American Black belts or something.
every now and then I’ve had severums just drop like that.
What the hell is going on, I loved this big guy.
here’s a few pics of the tank after the removal of him.
I know it’s old school don’t laugh.
I gotta scrape and paint the back.
I’m just glad it’s still holding water lol.
anyways there were no signs last night of any issues, all fish begging for food, all ate.
I noticed a tiny bit of white fuzz now on the other runt red severums tail.
I did a water change and added a small dose of melafix.
Why do these sevs do so good for so long and then just drop over night. I got a 6 gal cube with guppies and Amano shrimp killin it and a 30 gallon with rasboras, a candy stripe pleco and a bunch of Amanos killin it.
so bummed.
oh that’s heavy drift wood from the lfs and it’s been in for years, and pool filter sand for substrate.
I had one female convict in here too that grew from dime size to about 4 inches, and a few months ago dropped over night.
