Can I bump this and ask, of the three fish growing out in the 57 (JD, BP, convict), either the blood parrot or JD will be staying, while the other moves to another tank; which would u keep as a main showpiece?

I know its basic preference, but I'd hate to move the BP then discover the JD would just hide as an adult...decisions decisions. Also won't happen for a little while I'd think.

Nice tank! I would keep the JD. Those colors are amazing. I never had a JD that hid a lot. Mine was always very active especially when I was watching him.

Thanks :) I've been lucky with JD's in terms of quality, other fish in my area not so much! I added a tonne of plants and will add more, keeps aggression way down for me.

I like your tank. I was curious what are the smaller fish in there besides the JD and BP? And your JD hasn't tried to eat them yet?

Thank you sir, originally I was very overstocked (probably still am) with:

1x female JD
1x male convict
6x tiger barbs
6x giant danios
2x Buenos aries tetras
2x torpedo barbs.

After doing some moves, the stocking is now:

1x female JD
1x male con
1x blood parrot
6x giant danios
2x torpedo barbs
2x buenos aires

So far the aggression has been managed with hiding places and heavy planting, which I believe helps greatly in breaking sight etc. I think I'll probably have some problems down the road but will move fish accordingly :)

JD does try to attack the danios and tetras but they're very fast, and its only occasional charges

Couple more pics of the plants, I'm a great advocate of anubias, as well as the weed type plants you can just throw in without having to plant in the substrate
