I've just received 2 new fish, a black oranda and pearlscale. My oranda is the most gorgeous fish and I'm totally in love BUT, he keeps chasing my pearlscale.
I've emailed seller, and he informed me it's spawning season.
I'm going to possibly get 2 more girls but they won't arrive until end of next week.
Any advice on keeping this hormone filled boy from stressing my pearlscale. I've had them since yesterday

Put in a divider. My late male moore was absolutely relentless even in a 11’ x 11’ pond.

My tank is trigon, so it could be abit difficult. Also bank holiday Monday, so I won't receive any post until tues-wed, if I buy online. I will have a look...

Have any other tanks or plastic totes? You can always just separate them completely.

No, just the one, Juwel 190 trigon. I've looked online and I haven't seen any divider that can go in a trigon.

Well, not much you can do but separate them. The tank is just over 40 gallons, right? You might have to choose between the two. Your girl has no where to go.

My sons faintail has recently been an issue with my ranchu. Males are such trouble makers :p

Tell me about it!!
I've never owned an oranda before and as soon as I saw him, smitten. But his behaviour is like a Labrador puppy,
I've just bought a large fry net, which will be coming tomorrow(Amazon prime). So at least I can put her in at night to give her a break or whenever puppy gets too much. Hopefully the girls coming next week will help until this spawning behaviour reduces.
