He has done this a few other times since I put him in my 75 gallon 2 weeks ago. He backs up, yawns, darts forward really fast and pieces of slime coat come fling off him. Not sure why I did a 20 gallon water change and used stress coat and TLC in the water. He has been really weird since I transferred him to my 75: coming out during the day, hasn't eaten in 14 days (since I put him in), and shedding slime coat. What the HECK is going on with this fish lately!?!?

Water clarifier more than a conditioner. I've always used it in my tanks and none of my cats including my raph has ever reacted badly to it. Doesn't say ingredients.

Some of my raphs have done this also. It may simply be a response to stress.

I know you watch your parameters so that's under control. What temperature is he at? Maybe too warm?

Tonight is day 15 of not eating and he was hacking it up again. He kept trying to swallow an algae wafer but couldn't for some reason. It was really sad watching him try and try but not eat in the end :(. I think he may have some sort of parasite or disease and is trying to get the old slime coat off.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS FISH???
ask me any questions about him I just need to know what's going in before he dies of disease or starvation!
