In search of Leiarius
would a rapheal be compatible with kuli loaches and cherry barbs and a betta.

They're pretty mellow, but the striped ones get bigger than you think. A spotted might be better ...

so a spotted would'nt be able to swallow a kuhli loach or cherry barb or betta( bett is crazy he likes to sleep in the sand when the water is 15 inches high, and yes has higher places he can sleep but won't).

Also is the spotted's temp range the same as that as the sripped?

striped will be fine

yah the only reason i wouldn't do stripped is if they would be able to eat the fish i have listed.

would love to do the spotted rapheal but it seems from other sites its top temp is 80f and my tank hits 86f for almost six months out of the year.

A stripped would handle 84f and so therefore i assume do good in 86f, it is just iam worried that at night he would go for the betta, cherry barbs or kuhli loaches( even tough iam sure the kuhlis are more nocturnal).

lol my striped eats feeders that i feed to my 16" ornate....... my cats around 9 1/2" to 10" long and is fat and very very old.....i think he is my first catfish ever to keep so that means its like 12 years old!!!!!!!! once he hit 6" he will beable to eat the barbs and maybe the loaches.......

Those are some pretty small fish to keep with a Raphael Cat. Best to get something smaller from the Doridae family like a Hancockii.

yeah, even the small raphael get pretty stout. you would be surprised what they can fit in their mouth

I keep mine in my cichla tank about 88-86 (Spotted.) Yours will be fine.

well i go with the spotted then , how long will i be able to keep a spotted with thebetta, cherry barbs and kuhli loaches?
