Rare catfish put on critical list

That's the one that made a big "splash" in the news a while back with a catfish weighing as much as a grizzly bear (I'm sure everyone has seen it by now).
They killed and ate that fish. A world record mekong catfish. .:cry: :cry:

I don't understand why catching them is still allowed. If there are none left, then this will backfire. They should only allow the captive bred ones to be killed for meat.

BTW, if captive bred baby mekong catffish were available. would anyone here buy one?.

Sad, sad news....But, knid of neat for the Monster keeper....Owning and raising an endangered fish is something else....My lfs has four 5 inchers for sale....After reading this thread, I may have to go down there and buy a pair or two.....
