Rare chance

In australia its is rare to find pure blue jack dempseys. A guy in melb has got 10 fry...with pics and sufficient proof. I would really like to keep a baby jd with my two baby oscars and baby silver barbs in the 60 gallon. I have saved almost 50 % already to upgrade next january. All the fish are very young and filter is 2x empror 400 800 gph. Please advise. I dont want to lose this opportunity lol

The Oscars will most likely outgrow the ebjd very quickly and may bully/kill the lilttle Dempsey. You may also run into problems with keeping just the 2 O's in a 60 for 10 more months. I'd say if you could upgrade now and leave the 60 running for the ebjd that you are sure to be fine, other than that I'd say its a 50/50 shot.

If they are almost as big as your oscars it is worth a try. Keep an eye on the aggression. And when the O's start to put on some size I'd get a divider. But upgrade asap

my experience was different. one dempsey and one slightly larger oscar equaled one dead oscar overnight.
