I bought what looks to be possibly an african cichlid by the way it looks, but I'm not really sure.

I have some experience when it comes to cichlids, but not alot. I have had a hablochromis venutus before and its shaped like it. The color pattern is a white sliverish body with black stripes going across its top body, but not up and down. Its only about the size of my thumb. It has the same attitude of an african cichlid. The name it was sold under was Target fish. I'll try to post some pics later, but I warn you I suck when it come to taking pictures. So it might not help too much. I would really like some help on info on it. I have been looking on net, but so far no luck.

I think I might of found it now. Tarapon Jarbua. I might just keep this one for awhile.

Therapon jarbua - It's an uncommon find, but can be found here and there on occassion. They need brackish water and they can be a little aggressive. They are not Cichlids though.

not sure if I'm going to keep it for very long. I haven't had very good luck with brackish fish. From what I have read so far its like a columbian catfish. It start out in fresh, then brackish, then fully marine.
