I just picked up a banded knifefish- Gymnotus Carapo. It’s really a beautiful fish, I’ve always wanted to keep one of these guys. Unfortunately they’re incredibly aggressive to their own kind and from being kept in a tank wit several others it’s missing the tip of its tail, the bottom fin is ragged and it’s missing almost all of its pectoral fins. It seems to be moving around great and very active and curious despite the injuries, the first night home it’s been exploring the tank and claimed a spot under a very large piece of driftwood. What can I do to facilitate fin and tail re-growth and what should I expect for recovery? It should be night and day going from an aggressive store environment to my calm semi-blackwater tank but anything extra I can do to help it heal up would be ideal
