Does anyone know how often the Botia Robusta is seen in the trade?
Im told its pretty rare for a bottom-dweller......Anybody out there know anything?:nilly:

i know my LFS has a bunch of them in from time to time. not that rare i suppose.

Fugu's loaches are 356 bucks... they grow big too...

The only reason I guess I say its rare is because I'm told its one of the only loaches that can tolerate brackish water. And I think the correct Scientific name is Sinibotia Robusta, I think. If I'm wrong please correct me. I need to know which Loaches can tolerate brackish water.:nilly:

Tolerating brackish water & thriving in brackish water are 2 different things. Also, what salinity exactly are we calling brackish?

Im thinking a SG 1.005.....It should be able to thrive in that. I've heard hobbist say this possible.
 
Just remember Loaches are expensive & fragile just like scale-less fish, so be careful with what is "possible". If you insist on trying to keep Loaches in brackish water, acclimate them slowly & watch them carefully for signs of stress.
