I'm looking for a Pleco that is very docile, but will eat algae. I have a tank with South American Lungfish and the plecos that i've tried (common, royal) eat the fins off my lungfish. I need something to control the algae but not sure what to try. Oh yes, and it has to be fairly large (at least 4") so it doesn't get eaten by my clown knife. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I was thinking of trying a rubber nose. Any experience with that variety?

i have four south american lungfish and have many plecos with them.the plecos don't bother the lungfish.just keep the plecos well fed besides having them just eat algae.
