Rat Activities

I own 4 midsize rats and they live in a large rubbermade tote.

I find they don't have much to do, exept chase each other around and make funny noises.

I don' want to waste my money on things they wont use though. Does anyone know of things that will keep my rats occupied?

Actually rats make GREAT pets and are known to be smarter than dogs. Me personally, I would knock em off and feed em to my snake, but if you want to keep em as pets then make sure you handle them often as they can leave a very unpleasant bite. And like anything else handling them often will keep them "used " to it.

It's pretty painful, but I've had worse. They have sharp little teeth that break the skin pretty easily, but it's a small bite. I'd take it over a larger crushing bite any day (anyone ever been bit by a large parrot?-NOT fun)

Rats actually are pretty cool as pets, but they don't live that long. Something as simple as some small cardboard boxes and tubes would probably keep them entertained pretty well

make sure you dont keep em as pets and that you feed them to you snake, or else this will happen...

These are my pet rats. The babies will be for food for an up coming reptile. I will get some boxes and pvc pipes. Thanks.
