Today I remembered about feeding rats dog food. So I mixed some quality dog food with my hampster food and gave it to them. All they whent after was the dog food, they totaly ignored all the seeds and grains. Is this ok?

i ve seen people feed rats nothing but dog food with no problems but not a rat expert am i, unless they are food for the kids.

i hear the red dye used is a carcinogen and bad for all (check to see if it has it)

I got the dog food at Bulk Barn, I dont know all the ingredients but it looks good.

If you are going to do it, I would stick with higher quality food (Wellness, Solid Gold, Evo, etc), and see if you can get the vegetarian version of it....

my brother use to feed his rats high quality dog food and lab blocks and he never had any issues. his rats were all top notch in health.

so as long as you use quality food i dont see an issue. i would probably throw in some regular rat food in from time to time as well.

Yea, I think using quality food is key...

rats eat anything, i don't think it's a problem.
