rat snake i caught at the park yesterday
i was taking my dog for a walk and looked at a hollowed out base of a tree at the waters edge i saw a pattern and new it was a snake so i climbed down to it and looked in, there was a rat snake sitting on a clutch of duck eggs (i knew they weren't his because he was eating them and there was a particularly angry duck so i reached in and grabbed him (i knew it wasn't venomous because there are only three species of snake in the lake, diamondback water snakes, missisipi green water snakes, and the occasional rat snake) after grabbing him i saw he was a rat snake and took him home. pics:
