Rate my 1st Flowerhorn!

Hi guys,

Picked up my first flowerhorn for $40 bucks from a breeder. The parents look great are were "super red dragons" according to breeder but wana know what you guys think about the quality of this guy? Hes about 4in. His father had a all red head and hump and I noticed this guys head is mostly brown. Could his hump turn all red as he matures? Thanks in advance!

That really depends on how you take care of him man just make sure he get clean water and quality food. He stays happy then he will turn out to be good :D since you said his father have a nice kok and red in color.

I do 50 percent change per week (thats also how i upkeep my 110) and im trying to get him to eat the NLS Ultra Red. But he doesnt seem to care for it. maybe the pellets are too small...he eats then spits out
 
It all depends in his genes. Good care will make sure he reaches his full potential but hes going to be limited by his genes. srd's are common in the trade but please dont feed him hormone packed foods. Most dont work and WILL shorten his life. If you feed a good stable as nls then he will reach his full potential. Good luck

I dont believe NLS Ultra Red is hormone packed? I trust NLS but would never use those random packed hormone foods. I just wanted to know if any of you guys ever owned (or heard of) a FH thats KOK changed color over time? or does it usually stay the same color? Thanks

Yes they do changed over time when they mature
