I recently bought this fish from my local fish store and he was a little beat up but after trying to get him back healthy I was curious if he was of good quality to breed. He's roughly 7-8 inches long.

He has some healing up to do. Looks like he is not the dominant fish in the tank yet. Once he establishes that, ur other fish will start having shredded fins or get killed.

He is at a good size to breed but if you put a female in there with him, kiss all the other tank mates goodbye. Once the dovii pair up, they will make life difficult for ur other fish.

I guess I am in the minority. I dont think he looks that good. Heal him up, get him comfortable, and then ask the question again. :)

Hay thanks for your rates and Shawn thats what I asked for, minorities count thanks. I'm put the other guys in a 100 gallon and let him breed in peice, or just divide up the tank. I'm let him heal up def, and get a lil more size on him and probally get a red tiger mota or another good looking female Dovii not sure yet! keep the rates coming!

My flowerhorns are pretty gangster and they have a lot of room to run and get away from him but right know he is trying to mate with my female flowerhorn lol she is not having any of it! The male flowerhorn is just chillin with no worries!
