I'm looking to buy him a 75 rimless and drop some more money on a fluval fx6. Just want to know if he's worth the investment. Thanks guy.

Very nice! Question is, Is he worth it to you? If he were mine and I only had a 29 gallon, that's what he would be in gettin a water change every other day!

That fish is going to get 10"+ long. Regular zz style flowerhorn males can reach sizes of 14" but yours looks like it's a stocky/short body so it should stay a little shorter. You have a nice fish. If you enjoy it and want to keep it I'd say splurge and get him a nice set up. You can save a bit on going with a less expensive filter. Fx6 are a very nice filter.... but overkill for a single flowerhorn in a tank where water changes are don't regularly IMO

Yes I agree with you on that but with the fx6, it's so much easier for water changes. If yoy ise it correcrly, yoy dont even have to warm up the water. And since these guys are messy eaters, I just want to turn the tank over 3 times per hr. Cut up shrimp and pellets 3 times a day has got me chaging the water every few days.
How much is he?
As in how long is he? He's about 4.5 inches right now.
But he's not for sale. I got him as a gift.

That fish will most likely max out at around 6-8 inches. Most short bodies don't get that large but then again it all comes down to the genetics of the fish. My short body Kamfas and RDs only got to about 5.5-6.5 inches even when they had 90 gallons of water to themselves. If you go with a FX6 on a 75 make sure you have a return system that won't create insane currents in your tank because short body fh can have a harder time with strong currents. But if you are all about the technology of that filter then go for it.

So I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the fx6. And found a 93g rimless tank for him for a good deal. The tank was a saltwater tank and has overflow system in it. 2 holes with pvc sticking through them. Will it work if I put the bulk heads directly to the pvc? I know I'm gonna have to do some other modifications but I'm pretty handy when it comes to mechanics.
