I'll get pics when the dust clears but here's what's in it.

Specs:

  • 20 gallon long
  • 40 gallon Aquaclear filter
  • heater (XD) set to 80
  • 36 watt Coralife light fixture
  • 40 gallon air pump (to eliminate the dead spot behind the drift wood)

Hard-scape:

  • 3 medium sized rocks placed in the left hand corner in front of an unknown plant that I think might be an Amazon sword... but I don't know....
  • 3 smallish rocks placed near the middle against the drift wood
  • 2 pieces of driftwood put together with fishing line to keep them from toppling over in the tank and killing anything.
  • and for substrate I have a mix of flourite and EcoComplete

Flora:

  • Four bunches of Java fern one behind the driftwood, one on the driftwood, one jutting out from under the driftwood, and one in front of the rocks on the left side
  • A couple bunches of Cabomba "contained" behind the driftwood (It's gotten out of hand really and I don't know what to do with it...)
  • Two unidentified plants in the middle-left in the back (maybe Radican, Marbled Queen? [Echinodorus cordifolius] when I get a pic maybe you guys can help me)
  • Five bunches of Chain sword directly in front of the Radican
  • 5 bunches of Parva Crypt in the foreground between the gap of the rocks on the left and the driftwood on the right

Invertebrates:

  • One Cherry red shrimp (had three but two were eaten)
  • Three Japonica/ Amano shrimp
  • Between 5-8 Ghost shrimps
  • Had one golden mystery snail I'd like to get a couple more of these guys. I'm quite fond of their odd slow motion lives

Fauna:

  • Eighteen Neon tetra's (had 9 and I thought they were killed by a fish I then got rid of only for them to come out and school with the 9 new ones I put in there -.-)
  • One German Blue ram male (had another one I thought killed the tetra's and apparently not)
  • One Albino Bristlenosed Pleco (will move to the 55 gallon when he's outgrown the 20 gallon)
  • One white Female Betta named Pearl (when she gets in the right angle of light she fluoresces greenish blue. She has a line of red in her top fin, her pectoral fins and her tail

Here's the kicker. I tested the water today... twice this morning and I have 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and and .25 Nitrate! I've been having to dose with Nitrates for my plants. So I tested again tonight and I have zero everything. So I'm seriously considering keeping all the tetra's.

On the scale of 1-10 how does my tank sound? I'll put up pictures ASAP. It's not as cluttered as it sounds... or at least it doesn't seem that way to me. I'd like some help though figuring out what I need to do to sharpen it up what to get rid of and what to add.

Pics.

Yeah ti was so dusty earlier I put "Clarity" in there and it promised a 1-2 hour clearing time and it's going on four... if you REALLY want to see now I can but it would look better clear.

you should never need Clarity.
