Ello,

So it would be nice to have a chart/poll with the activity level of each snakehead species as juvi/adult and whether groups make a difference. Activity defined as how much swimming it does, how much its in the open, how its activity changes to interact with co-species,night or day movement?

Can really help out with selection of species and tank.

Can be from experiance or science.

activity depends on how comfortable they are in their tank and the individual SH, can't really chart something like this. + SH owners may be biased towards a species they prefer, so you're not going to get any answers that will help.

Well planted tanks with tons of vegetation on the surface will make your SH relax and swim around freely

I got 1 20"+ giant SH on a 4x3x1.5' pond division. pond is really 8x4x1.5'.

He would sometimes move alongside his perimeter because he's got an oscar right next his division. Oscar is aggressive, that must have triggered the characteristics. Giant would patrol his space every once in a while. But he's generally lazy, just staring at other fish and waiting for food lol.

you would have had to have kept them all and plenty of them to even guess on which is the most/least active.
its all subjective really.

I guess he can gather some information if everyone will give their SH characteristics. But i think someone here has a lot of experience in keeping and breeding them.

Hi,

I agree with Dixon. Activitydoes not depend on the character of the fish, and mostly not on the species.

Cheers

exactly there is too many variables.

to get decent and relevant information you would need to keep all species and lots of each (i mean lots) in EXACTLY the same conditions for a considerable length of time.

as an example every single snakehead i've kept has been quite active, i've kept around 5 species and breed 1. i know jack.
