Okay, So I just realized today that my Prime is like none and the only other H2O conditioner is a trial pack that doses 10gal and I either need to:

Do a WC on ONE tank and move the 2xAfrican Butterflyfish and Endlicheri Bichir (I was only planning on the Endli and the one butterflyfish, but not the second)

Or Do a WC on both and only use Water Conditioner on One tank....

Or Do a tiny...tiny...WC on One and only use one drop of Prime....

I don't want to skip the WC as it is very important to me at it has been a week-(again VERY IMPORTANT)

EDIT: 250th POST

just get more or don't do a water change.

you do not have tu use prime. they sell conditioners at grocery and drug stores around here. So get your mom to take you to get some. No risk

if you don't have the money to buy conditioner then you have to skip. Your fish will be fine, doesn't matter if it's important to you or not if you don't have the conditioner then your screwed. Sry dude.

Waiting an extra few days (or even a week) to do the water change, unless it is a horribly overstocked tank, won't make a lick of difference to the fish.

Even doing a small (30% or less) water change once without conditioner won't likely kill the fish. My girlfriend was taking care of my aquarium for 4 months last summer, and did not do a single water change. She mostly just added straight tap water to top off the tank. I only lost 2 fish out of that tank with 4 months exposure to straight tap water and no water changes.

But like I said, the wc can wait for at least a few days till you can get more conditioner.

I have waited far longer then that to do a water change. Back when I lost my ex I went through some dark times, and lets just say my fish where last on my list. The tank was almost completely covered in algae to the point you couldn't see in, thats how long it had been. As long as the Ammonia and Nitrite are Zero then you will be fine. If you do water changes each week normally and you nitrates are <=40 or so you will have a long time before it gets to be a problem. I have read that the Nitrates need to be well over 100ppm to cause concern and even then only if you leave it for a long time.

I also have heard that putting tap water in in small amounts un treated is okay, but why risk it? what if the water company had a mistake that week and 100x the level of chlormine was added?

This is hardly an emergency and no reason to do something silly. I had my dog knock loose the drain on my tank while I was at work, the water drained to bellow the overflow. I had no water treatment now that was a problem, because I can't filter the water when it was that low. Petsmart hated me when I came in with a huge jar of pennies to buy some prime.
