i have a clownknife and two jags. i just read on a site that you could feed them raw chicken. the food they eat in the wild isnt cooked so what would be the difference? but i need a few opinions before i go and kill my fish. i ask this because i ran out of frozen food and i have a load of chicken.

Chicken will cloud up your water and cause an ammonia spike, I had one of these moments and almost killed my oscar.

Raw chicken is very oily. It can lead to suffocation by sealing the surface air exchange.

i did this for a while with beef chicken and pork all at seperate times...but usually resulted the same...they would spit out any raw fat..and water changes wer constantly needed i went 12 days ( usually i do 50% every 6 days) with out a wc an got fog eye on my arrowanas

Chicken is OK provided it's only offered on rare occassions. Preferably just prior to performing a large water change. There's too much fat in chicken that can cause havoc to a tank's parameters.

You'd be better off offering the fish inexpensive fish fillets like catfish nuggets. I get them fast-frozen in 10lb boxes for $6/bx in my area.

Just one more thing to think about, how often does a fish eat chicken in the wild? - lol
