just wondering if it is ok to feed fish raw meat like beef.

Thank's

No, not beef. The incorrectly-built grain-fed fat in the beef will kill them, just like it kills us. Lean meats are okay. Beef heart qualifies. Buffalo qualifies as does most game meat. But anything grain-fed has an improper balance of fatty acids that will cause serious cardiovascular issues in time.

so i guess beef stew meat is off the menu ? I just started introducing it into there diet for only 2 weeks a small amount at that.

I like to try and mix it up a bit so they eat a variety of food.

I wouldn't feed any mammalian based proteins to fish.

x2 .. fish don't eat cow in the wild... I even go a step further with my fish and I don't feed my FW fish marine based food either except in small amounts. the compositions of these "flesh-types" is vastly different and some digestive tracts handle things better then others.

Some marine based proteins are actually extremely nutritious and great for freshwater fish.

if you wanna mix it up go for tilapia fillet when it goes on sale or just plain market shrimp

I'll never feed my babies beef. but pork?! that stuff makes them grow like crazy, my arowana and arapaima were pretty slow growing till i fed pork then they put on a massive amount of girth and length in a pretty short amount of time (comparatively). I understand that other people might not like my idea of how i grow my fish but hey i have a 4ft silver and a 7 ft arapaima that i've had together for 5 years now. so...
