Raw Shrimp for Gar

I have good from feeding live feeders. To krill then to silversides and now I am trying raw Shrimp. I bought raw Shrimp at Walmart in the frozen food section. I thaw it out and give him 1-2 cut up medium size pieces a day. He is 1' long ... is this shrimp ok to feed him? And how much is enough per day?

what kind of gar? Florida? I would say 4-5 piece a day might be enough for a 1' Florida gar!
 
Florida... When I fed him 2 the other day he looked pretty stuffed up front but toward the lower belly it is skinny. I don't want to over feed him. That seems like a lot. The shrimp are like the size of a my thumb. See pictures

I was thinking about the piece of shrimps that you cut out a bout 1/3 that headless shrimp so 4-5 piece or 2 shrimps should be good !
