I was at the lfs today and they had what was labeled as a teacup ray but it looked like a retic. They tried saying I could keep one in a 75 and would only get to about 6" max, are they right?? I thought any ray was 150 gallons or more?
Like all lfs they lie. It is common for them to use the name teacup to their advantage. I was told i could keep one in a 40 gallon. Ya you could keep a retic in a 150 for a REALLLLLLY long time if not life. So dont listen to them do your own reasurch.
I said that, I actually said I believe that is a retic. and they were like no no. I only have one lfs and it was some newer guy I have never seen in there before.
It's usually been my experience that people that work in an LFS aren't as knowledgeable as the people who shop in the same LFS. There are exceptions, but they are few and far between. This is the same reason we see threads like, "Help picked up RTC and it's getting too big!" or "Is my 75 big enough for my pacu?"
lol a guy at one lfs close to me told me most fw rays could probably live in 100-125 for life, sigh... im a believer in "if you dont know the proper answer, just say you dont know!" but apparently thats a real problem for alot of people
