Ray at the top

Hi all I haven't had a ray for long but I'm wondering why he is swimming at the top now
I feed him 4 times a day and do 50/50 water change every week so I just wanted to know if its normal and telling he's hungry

Sometimes they do swim mid water level and even on top in the current. Depends on the ray.
