Never kept rays, and don't intend to, but am always intrigued by the fact that some are always swimming up on the side of the tank, up and down, up and down.... What are they doing??? Playing? They don't seem to do it for food, since I see them do this everywhere - LFS, on MFK's photos, public aquariums...

sometimes they play, sometimes they are looking for food. my ray likes to play in the stream of my powerhead and "fly"
