Anyone successfully breeding rays in a group of 1 male and 3 females? Any issues with females fighting, male picking on immature females or females not ready to breed or pups being attacked / eaten by other females. I have 1 male BD and 3 females. Male is 13", 1 female 16" (and looking preggo) and 2 - 12" females. I'm building a big tank and want to house them as a breeding group. Right now I have the male and large female together and the other 2 females together in a different tank.

New tank would be 500 gallon 80" x 48" x 30".

It seems like most people breed their rays in pairs.

Should not be a problem.I have a tank with 4 motoros 1m,3fm, a tank with 4 MM 2M,2fm ,and a third tank with 4 Leos 1m,3fm. I've had no problems like you fear.

I have the exact ratio, only motoros. 1M 3F, the group is growing great. I have mine in a 8x3x2.5 I divide the females away from the main group ~1week before they are due to drop their pups.

No aggression between any of the females. Occasionally the male will get a bit rough with the girls.
