I'm looking into getting a motoro that is 6.5" and it has a burn on the top of its disk from the heater, the guy said that the ray is still eating like crazy but it was burned about 5 days ago. Do these heal up really easily? Or should that be someting that should definitely steer me away from the purchase? I think I can snag him for $60. also whats the best way to create a heater cover if i do end up getting him?

The burn mark will go away in about 2 weeks depending on how badly it was burned and water quality, my motoro burned him self and it didn't want to heel because the ph was low i did a water change and he heeled great and this happened about a month ago. As long as its eating good it should be fine to buy.

It should heal....as for a heater cover, one can be easily made using pvc pipe - just be sure to drill some holes in the pipe for water flow.

If he is eating well, he should be fine. $60 is a great price.

Be advised that motoros get very large....that is the biggest downside to keeping them.

the hell?

thats whats so great about them! if you have the right sized tank that is :naughty:

Not for the people buying them.

Remember that guy on this forum who refused to get a bigger tank until it hit the fan?

in my experience, heater burns take months to heal. it was burned on the disc tho so it had to get bigger to regenerate that part of the disc in order to be fully healed and i had it for over 3 months n it still wasn't done healing.
