So is there a fish out there that could be used for cleaning parasites or bacteria off of rays?
The reason I'm wondering this is I'm having a problem with my 3 xingu's in my 300 with them scratching all the time (http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=207827) so I decided to move one into my 66 gallon on a drip system with a 3 1/2 month old motoro and 3 discus. About after an hour in the new tank the discus started to look at the xingu and start to look like it was eating something off of it. They have never done this with the motoro so I'm thinking it may be eating parasites or bacteria.
Anybody have any thoughts on this?

hmm.... see how it goes after a few days... just keep a eye on it...

I have had great success with yo yo loaches and orbingyi rays and retics. The first rays I got had lice and the loaches made short work of them. I thought they were just sucked up by the filter but when I added the infected orbingyi soon after and watched the loaches bombarb them, I was convinced.

I may have to see about this combo. So far my xingu isn't bothered by the discus but like nic said I'll keep an eye on it. This may be my healthiest option. lol
Thanks

I used to keep a population of feeder guppies in the ponds. They would eat any small particles of leftover ray food, clean the rays including fungus tails on affected new imports, keep the water very clean and provided a decent snack for the rays when the got big enough. win win.

Good thought. I know most my rays would rather eat worms and shrimp so the feeders would actually last for awhile...I think. lol
