Ray Compatibility

I set up my 240 about a month ago and could not figure out what to do with it so, I decided to do rays . I was thinking pool filter sand.
There are going to be Retics, maybe a Guyana any info?
An Arowana
I have a 13 Inch Pleco Problems?
Cichla Tememsis?
Florida Gar?
What a nice middle level fish?

i was told a pleco could suck the slime off of the ray, so i avoided the pleco
