If my ray will readily accept sinking carnivore pellets is there any reason i shouldn't feed them as a staple diet instead of crawlers

I also plan on adding some seachem nourish freshwater fish vitamins to the pellets some times

Just wondering what everyone feeds their rays really :)

I feed sinking cichlid gold, sinking carnivore, and massivore w/ market shrimp as a treat. Colors are enhanced w/ a pellet diet in my experience.

i feed shrimp, smelt, and earthworms

my rays never took to pellets but i never tried very hard either

u deff want to switch your main food though. as your ray gets older the earthworms will make your tank very dirty

Yup worms are pretty dirty, I fed him with the light on the other night and it was a cloud of worm guts. I will have to pick up some sinking cichlid pellets too

I've never noticed any color changes feeding between shrimp and pellets but thats just me. I also find that when your rays get larger and you have to feed more pellets your tank starts to smell a little foul. To me it's your choice I have some rays on frozen foods, some on pellets and some on both and all are doing just fine and breeding. I agree with vamptrev on the worms. To me a variety couldn't hurt.

In addition to most of the foods above,I started feeding Mazuri Ray/Shark Gel about a month ago. It did take a little time to get everybody on it,but now they love it!!

I have a reticulated stingray. He use to only eat live black worms but has graduated to earthworms. He won't take dead food. I fooled him once and he took a silverside in and spit it back out.
He is able to swallow the earthworms whole so there is no mess. I also inject one of the worms with vitamins 5x a week since the diet is not as varied. Right now he is about 20+ inches long with around a 9 inch disc.
