I feed my rays daily but have recently been considering giving them a day of fasting every week. I was curious if anyone else does this and what schedule they may use :)

I was thinking I might try not feeding on Sundays

I can only imagine it would improve water quality by giving the drip a chance to catch up on the day I am not feeding? Plus I think my rays are getting a bit... chunky

I like it except for the fact that I am terribly forgetful and if it isn't a set day I will most likely forget if I am supposed to feed or not lol. I even have to wash my filter socks on Tuesday because if I don't I will forget when the last time I washed them was and end up washing them too soon or too late :screwy:

I always feed twice per day no matter what. None of my rays are skinny but deff not over weight either

I was mainly concerned with the weight of the rays / fatty liver disease. Is there a such thing as an overweight ray?, I have a suspicion the reason my male always looks prego is because he piles down a bunch of pellets after eating everything else. Maybe instead of fasting I will just limit the days that I feed pellets and feed shrimp smelt and crawlers as usual.

Most likely I am making something of nothing :)

I feed my rays every other day.For 2 reasons / helps with water quality and also to allow them to digest everything properly.

Thats crap IMO

If i dont feed my rays twice per day they start trying to eat eachother

Your rays CANT be healthy feeding every two days (IMO)

Hmmm this is interesting.... But if u think about it, do rays feed every day in the wild??? This is a good topic we should discuss

I have one male motoro and feed him massivore every other day because he makes a complete mess and clouds the water. I do not notice a difference in activity level if I feed him daily or even go 2 days without feeding. Not that I suggest not feeding him for days but I do not notice a difference in activity.
