Ray float

Is she eating ? swimming on the surface is normal...

As long as she's eating, you'll be fine. In my experience, a stressed ray usually will refuse to eat at times..

Thanks for yr rely.....she is eating but this is not her norm and she just stopped on the surface of the water which I sense something might be wrong.

have you checked your water levels yet?

I have one female motoro that will do that, just kinda float around the surface for long periods of time. One reason rays do that is if there is something wrong with your water, like high ammonia. When she does it I check the water and there is never anything wrong, and the other rays are acting normal, so I have determined that its just something she likes to do. As long as you don't have any ammonia or nitrites showing up on your water test I wouldn't worry about it to much.

same here JohnG. Thats why I asked him the question. Some do it due to ammonia being off and some just like to do it.
I have a female that loves to swim at the top and float letting the bubbles from the airstone hit her..
But knowing some people have had rays that do it due to ammonia levels, its a good thing to check to make sure its not a water problem.
