Can anyone tell me the ID what rays is on the left side? The seller told me its motoro sp. argentine..:confused::confused:

Isn't Arg. home of Falkneri?

Possible Falkneri/Motoro?
 
post some shots of the tail.... looks like a motoro to me though

Yes, P. falkneri can be found in parts of Argentina along with a few other species.

I personally believe natural ray hybridization rarely if ever occurs. These fish have swam those waters for MILLIONS of years. If natural hybridization was as common as some people suggest, I would think by now we wouldnt have such a diverse genus as we do now.

Saying that I just looked at those pictures again...is that ray covered in tiny dots in between the spots? :WHOA:

Its not hard to get hybrids from peru and colombia. ;) So it does happen, and often. :)

Looks like a normal peru flower. We need a better pic of the spots though.

How are you so sure they are hybrids?
