.....thats a good question....
Hey guys, wanted to know what kind of ray this is. It was sold as a common peru ray but I am not sure if is. Let me know what you guys think. He has spots like the motoro except they are all yellow and without the outer ring but they faded out when I put him in the tank. Its really hard to see in the pic but just imagine it being covered with markings like a motoro. I guess my next question should be, is it normal for a stingray to lighten up in color alot when first added to a new tank? Hope so...

Fom the pic, it could be a common peru ray. Those things generally have variable patterns, so that is why there are always ID-ing issues.

Oh yeah! Thats what he looks like. Ok so he is a peru ray then. Thanks alot! You think he would show more color on black sand or do you think the color will come back. About what size do they get? Thanks for your help:)

i believe that his is a motoro so that means yours is too

Mine isnt a motoro...well there really isnt a latin name for these guys actually. There is a thread discussing this within the first couple pages if you look.

Mine isnt on anything my tank is bare bottom, I do think if you had a darker substrate he will darken up a bit...
