Ray import Acclimation

Hi I hope I can get some help here in regards to big import ray acclimation.

I have taken the plunge and decided to import 12 rays from overseas and wanted to ask if there is a recommended way of acclimation for them. 2 boxes 6 rays in each the way I have been thinking is empty all 6 rays into poly box asap reduce water level and start a drip method straight away for around 2 hours to bring temp and water chem right and stable slowly ?

Any help be greatly appreciated many thanks in advance

I would remove from shipping water immediately, open bag put in some amquel or prime and put rays into aquarium immediately

Ok this works ok no need adjust them slowly to temperature or pH etc ?

A lot of people swear by the squirt and dump method as explained above. Personally I have never imported rays but it would make sense to get them out of the water they have been shipped in as soon as possible, especially if they have been in the bag for hours or longer.
The bag will be full of ammonia and they need to get out of it quickly, not be dripped for hours.

you can float the bag for 20 Min or so before you open there bag or squirt and dump! That would get temp close if not the same

Ok so just to confirm when they arrive I float the bags for around 20minutes to get them all at or around same temperature then 1 by 1 open bag immediately squirt some prime the net then quickly into tank or dump the ray and all the water in bag into the tank ?

I would personally chuck some tank water in the poly box ASAP to bring the temp up a little but with a mind to get them out of the high ammonia water fast. An ammonia test would tell you how vital the move is, if it is really high I would just dump them in as ammonia will be worse than a temp swing. 6 Rays seems a lot to be in a box, I hope they purge / starve them a few days before shipping. I would always want to drip the water in and do a proper acclimation but if they are in poor state then I would do more drastic dumping.

I think that's what they are saying - If it was me I would float for 20 min, but Not sure I would add the shipping water to my tank... I would either net the ray out or Pore out old water than dump ray in, not sure which way would be less stressful. If you have multiple rays in each bag - add the prime for sure as it may take a few minutes to get them all in the tank once the bag is opened!

Thanks guys forgot to mention float bag to acclimate temp then squirt prime net fish put into aquarium I never dump shipping water into aquarium. D DDOTRUSH you should research what happens when fish are shipped and the gas exchange that occurs immediately after opening bag it very interesting but it is also why the squirt and dump method is being used by many now.
