Noticed some white on my ray 3 days ago so did the usual water check ph 6.8 ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrates 20ppm i ritualisticly change 90% of the tank water per week. Hes in a 500gallon with a clown knife. Its gotten worse over the last 2 days skins starting to lift in the area im not sure if its bacterial an injury or fungal any ideas? He still eats fine, general behaviour is almost normal has a few flicks of his disk every now and again. Any help much appreciated. 20181105_173058.jpg 20181105_173126.jpg

I am not an expert but the first picture looks almost like there could have been an injury and there is fungus growing on it now
Usually clean water sorts it out but if it is getting worse with water changes, you could add some salt to the water to help with the healing
Maybe just keep am eye on the clown knife that when the lights are out he is not injuring the ray

90% is a BIG water change. I would do smaller more regular changes personally.
I assume there is no heater in the main tank?

Ill add some salt tonight hopefully aid the process, i think the knife and ray might get into the odd beef if the ray gets under his driftwood.

I agree its a large volume its more a timing issue for me long hours 6 days a week. No heater or equiptment in the main tank only filter inlet and outlets.

almost looks like a heater burn don't it
i thought it looked like a burn too, but no heater in the tank.

Think its definetly an injury from either the knifefish or tank decor going to be a long time healing i think. 1541565881653659927833792081125.jpg
