Hi , friend

I got a ray that i have use microscope and found they are infecting with lots of internal worm. One is already dead and other are surviving but i feel. Sooner or later. They might have get same problem . I feed them with live shrimp .

Can anyone recommend any safe internal worm medicine for ray ? I have read some old articles and heard of Prazipro , Metro , etc. But do not know how to use them .

How do you use the medicine ? Feeding or other way ?

What is the dose of ray medication ?

Thank you for all help.

Were you able to identify the specific parasite? That could help you in deciding which antihelmith to use.

But if you aren't able to ID the worms specifically, I'd go with PraziPro.

The treatment regimen is (courtesy of the Hikari site):

Instructions:
Shake vigorously before use.
Measure at the rate of 1 tsp per 20 gallons. One ounce per 120 gallons. This produces a concentration of 2.5 mg/L.
Distribute the proper amount around the edge of the aquarium or directly into the filter box to achieve the best overall distribution.
A single treatment lasting 5-7 days is normally sufficient. Repeat as necessary, but no more than once every 3-5 days.
May be used as a preventative at the standard dosage, when disease is likely.
Do not use any other drugs or disease treatment.
May cause noticable temporary foaming.

Specifications:
This is a ready-to-use, liquid concentrate that was developed as an effective way to deal with unwanted parasites in ponds, freshwater or saltwater aquariums. It is extremely safe and super effective giving you rapid control yet will not negatively impact your biological filtration.
Key benefits: treats flukes, tapeworms, flatworms, turbellarians; can be used as a preventive; non-toxic to commonly kept aquarium animals or plants.

The 16 ounce bottle treats up to 1,920 gallons.

prazi pro for one week on. then metro for one week on. then prazi for one week on. all this assuming that you find worms=prazi/ hexamita=metro

Please use the raise up temp for a week BEFORE you use any meds.
Even some salt too,

raise temp to reduce the life time of the parasite/worms salt to do the same.
If the problem still persists, then use meds to kill whats left.
This is what i did and it worked for me.
Can any of the pro's comfirm that this is the right way to go before dosing with meds?

Thank you all for comments.

TheRealMacDaddy - Thanks for your very useful comments.

Fish Room Plus - i have a friend who is a vet . Unfortunately , he do not know anything about stingray . So i asked him to help me check fish poo with microscope and help me ID .

Skyliniez - What is your temperature up to ?

Omojena - Do i have to use 2 med continuously on treatment

My water temp in Thailand is already 29 degrees. Sometime 30 degrees in this period of time. Do i still have to add heater to raise temp 24 hours 30 degrees ?
