1st picture the lighter colored ray looks to be orb. the 2nd picture looks to be a hybrid of some sort. I would call it "mantilla"

If you have a Motoro already, then Id get another Motoro. that way you can maybe breed them at some point. Is your a male or female?

the seller told me the 1st one was "Peruvian Hystrix" <--- i thought maybe he meant false hystrix (?)

the darker one was labelled a "unique Marble Ray, possibly a Mantilla"

i haven't acknowledge myself with all the types of ray back then so i wasn't sure about the real ID of them.. thanks anyway for the feedback :)

i'm aware of that, but at some point i was into "variations" on my tank so i was kinda looking for something else.. also aren't they able to breed even with different kinds? or is it very essential to breed them with the same kind?

my motoro is a 10" female.. and these two rays are about 12" males

..pardon my english :uhoh:

Yes, the first ray is an orbignyi. They can be labeled as "Peruvian Hystrix". Have also seen them as "yellow hystrix".

I understand wanting variations of different rays. Nothing wrong with having different types to mix things up.. I have heard of different types of rays breeding but
I dont want to advise you in anyway as if its ok to breed different types, or certain types of rays with other certain types of rays. I dont know enough about it rt now to be comfortable to give you advice on that. Someone who knows more can prob tell you that information. And as putting a larger male ray in with a smaller female as well.

yes, i know that my female motoro is slightly smaller than these males but i've heard from several ray keepers that as long as they're not greatly different in size then it should be fine.

but nonetheless, i haven't buy any of the males above yet so maybe i could go on a hunt for a male motoro with similar size if i can find any. i understand and appreciate the kind suggestion. thank you!

well I really like the second one.. but both are really nice rays. look nice and healthy also.
