Ray problems :(

Well this morning me and grapedinox woke up to a problem with one of are new henlei's. she had gotten into it with one of the other rays and somehow cut her self with her barb in two spots. So we where watching her and seen that one of the holes looks like she is breathing out of it. So now we have separated her from the rest and salted the tank again. But it really doesn't seem to be a problem for her she's still swing around like nothing's wrong.

Wow that stinks! Your doing all you can for her. Just keep a very close eye on her and hope for the best! Sad to hear!

I have heard of the same type of injury from others. Long as she is eating and the water is clean, she should be fine.

She is eating and acting normally other than maybe a little slower than normal. She is pretty chewed up though. So anybody have a guess on sexual maturity size on a female henlei roughly? Our mature Pearl ray just will Not leave her alone and is chasing her around the tank the same way some of the other rays do before they breed. But since she is only about 13 inches we were under the impression she was not close yet.

Probably going to have to move that pearl.

these Henlei are probably around 3 years old i am guessing. i think it is possible they are trying to breed. As other said, it should heal up fine.
