13 inch ck
3parrots
pike
12 tsn
gt
silver dollars
green and gold sevs
balla sharks
pleco
chichlasoma synispilim (wrong spelling)

any advice will be appreciated want to get him before i add the others to tank if ok

I don't have rays myself but I have heard that fish will bite at the eyes of rays thinking that they are food and can stress them so they will stop eating. Pleco's will suck on the disc of the rays causing wounds and possible infections.

I just got a reticulata from my LFS and none of my fish even pay attention to it.
From what I've read the disk wont get any larger than 12" so it will be fine in a 300.

Michael has a 15in retic.

With that size tank you keep keep quite a few different types of rays. If I was you I would keep and otorongo in there, but thats me.

For a hardy ray I would suggest motoros. The are common, not that expensive, and hardy.

You can keep a lot of different fish with rays. Most of the time though you have to worry about the rays hurting tankmates vs tankmates hurtint the ray.

Most of your tankmates would be find with a ray. I would however take out the pleco, GT, and the chichlasoma synispilim (wrong spelling). I would also, once a rays is added keep an eye out for any agression.

Also, I find female motoros do better with tankmates then males.

i would stick with motoros because they are a good hardy species to get a foundation of freshwater rays. When p reticulatas are brought in, they feed only on live blackworms and are very delicate. They really are a pain in the @ss and are not worth the trouble especialy when here are much better rays out there. One true rule about rays is you get what you pay for if you "go cheap"you will be sorry later on

basically you need to trail and error, every fish have diff temperment.

some species of fish can be kept with rays, but to another person keeping that same species, that fish attks his rays. so ya, lots of good luck..

motoro is a nice species to start with..
