i got an O. niger that wont gain weight, suspecting internal paracites. which paracite med is ray safe. might as well do the whole tank since 6 of the newer guys are wild caught

+1 with the prazi pro. i use it when my rays stop eating, if i know they dont have internals for some reason they tend do start eating again. works great, a little pricey tho

havent heard anything about garlic, but im sure prazi will do just fine for your problem.

There are some garlic extracts currently on the market, supposedly they help to boost the immune system and get stubborn fish to eat. I dont know if the immune system part is true or just marketing hype, but my cichlads do seem to like the stuff. I usually put a bit on there food once or twice a week. Haven't tried it with my rays yet.

I'd guess it's a worm of some kind. I'd use panacur to deworm the niger. You can put it in food, so you know it's getting treated. And if your rays happen to get it, that will be ok.
